The Nissan Altima Hybrid sedan

Hot on the heels of Simply Hybrid new hybrid vehicle additions comes a hybrid Nissan Altima sedan. The most popular Nissan model and like the Prius, Toyotas Synergy Drive-equipped hybrid vehicle, the hybrid Nissan Altima is also a pure hybrid car.

Nissan Altima hybrid offers all of the same features that the newly designed 2007 Altima offers and is a versatile machine. This high tech vehicle incorporates a Nissan adaptation of Toyota’s electronic motor controller, offers impressive acceleration and none of the performance sacrifices expected of first-generation hybrids.
At low speeds it runs on electric-only power, at higher speeds it operates on internal combustion engine power, and both electric and gas power plants when power needs are great. Variable transmission and regenerative breaking helps keep the battery pack powered.

Currently, the EPA rates the 198 horsepower Altima hybrid at 42 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.
